Dr. Ismael Concha Albornoz

Dr. Ismael Concha-Albornoz, DVM, MVSc 

Dr. Concha was born in Santiago, Chile in 1971. He is married to his lovely wife Paola and has two beautiful children, Benjamin and Catalina.

He began his veterinary career after receiving his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Santo Tomás University, Santiago, Chile in 1997. From 1997  to 2006, Dr. Concha was an Assistant professor of human anatomy Faculty of Human Medicine at Los Andes University, and the Head of the Veterinary Anatomy Unit until 2014 at the College of veterinary medicine, Universidad Santo Tomás. During his time in Chile, he also completed an internship in 2001 in Plastination techniques at University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. In 2009, Dr. Concha received his masters of Science in Veterinary Science from Oregon State University.

Dr. Concha’s experience in Anatomical Techniques includes: Bones techniques, corrosion cast, diafanization, insufflations, epoxy and polyester polymers, anatomical models, plastination and different conservations methods. 2002 Founder member of the first Plastination Lab in Human Anatomy in Chile, at Los  Andes University, Santiago Chile. 2005 Founder member of the first Plastination Lab. In Veterinary Anatomy in Chile, at Santo Tomas University, Santiago Chile.

Currently Dr. Concha is working as anatomy professor at Lincoln Memorial University, Tennessee.  

Also Dr. Concha is an artist with a vast number of drawings, painting and scientific illustrations.
